General Description and Qualifications
Administrative Support
Autism currently affects 1 out of every 150 children in the
Support tasks can be tailored to the individual and groups, and includes but is not limited to answering telephone calls, taking messages or information and referring callers to appropriate resources and keeping a record of referrals made; opening and sorting incoming correspondence, including faxes and emails, and preparing responses to correspondence containing routine inquiries; assisting within filing; preparing mail-outs; making bulk copies; creating packets for monthly meetings and trainings; data entry; and computer generated reports.
Volunteers should have general knowledge of standard office practices, procedures, protocol, equipment, clerical techniques and customer service, as well as excellent written and oral communication skills. Requirements also may include the knowledge and ability to work on a computer (Microsoft Word, Excel and Access). Orientation and training will be provided.
Time requirements: 2-5 hours/week, Mon-Fri – morning or afternoon, days and hours flexible. Some tasks, as determined on a project basis, can be picked up at the office and be done in the volunteer’s home.
