AUTISM SUPPORT AND EDUCATION GROUP :  This group meets the last Tuesday of every month, with dinner starting at 6 pm. Dinner and childcare are provided free of charge.   Experts in the field of autism present at each meeting.  Examples of presentations include: 

  • ABA, ARD/IEP preparation
  • sensory integration
  • alternative therapies
  • area resources, and many more.

ASPERGER’S SUPPORT AND EDUCATION GROUP This group meets the third Tuesday of every month, with dinner starting at 6 pm.  Dinner and childcare are provided free of charge.    Experts in the field of autism present at each meeting.  Examples of presentations include: 

  • Developing social skills
  • Sexuality and children with Asperger’s
  • ARD/IEP preparation
  • alternative therapies

SPANISH SPEAKING SUPPORT AND EDUCATION GROUP

This group is scheduled to meet quarterly.  Dinner and childcare are provided free of charge.  The next group meeting will be May 18, 2007 at 6:00 pm.  The presenter will be Rocio Arguello from the Brighton School.  Rocio will be discussing ARD/IEP preparation.  Upcoming meetings will be held in August and November 2007.  We will be discussing sensory integration at the August meeting and you will hear from a developmental pediatrician at our November meeting.  To get on our mailing list please call or email Hugo Hernandez at (210) 227-0170.

AUTISM RESOURCE GUIDE

The Autism Resource guide is a 22 page guide that provides information on services and programs related to autism and Asperger’s.  The guide was developed by families involved in the Reaching Families Facing Autism Program

 

AUTISM LIBRARY

Any Baby Can and the RFFA program have over 50 titles of books, videos, and magazines that have been purchased through the generosity of Dr. Mario Fierro and Dr. Roger Lunke (North Central Orthopedics).  Books are checked out by being enrolled in our in-home parent education or by attending one of the Autism Spectrum Disorder support groups.  If you are interested in checking out a book or donating a new or gently used book please contact Frances Ramirez at (210) 227-0170.
